Frequently asked questions

What is PILAR-2b?

An open platform, developed at NIPE/UNICAMP, that estimates, municipality by municipality, the biogas and bioproduct potential of agricultural, livestock and urban residues. The topics above show the first steps.

Which regions does the platform cover?

São Paulo state is the canonical base, with every layer and analysis. Minas Gerais is a pilot, marked “beta — in validation”: its figures may still change. Expansion to the rest of Brazil is under way.

What are theoretical and available potential?

Theoretical potential starts from the amount of residue generated. Available potential applies availability factors per residue, which estimate the share that can actually be mobilised and are under review. References and chemical characterization are in the Scientific Database.

Can I reuse the data and the code?

Yes. The code is licensed under GPL-3.0 and the data under CC BY 4.0, which allows any use, commercial included, as long as the source is credited. See How to cite.

Is the platform accessible?

The goal is WCAG 2.1 level AA: keyboard navigation, text alternatives and sufficient contrast. The accessibility statement describes the current state and how to report barriers.

I found an error in the data. How do I report it?

Write to CP2b through the contact form (CP2b website), naming the municipality, the indicator and the screen where you saw it.
