Proximity Analysis

Spatial and logistical simulation by catchment radius for biogas and biomethane plant feasibility.

What is it

Proximity Analysis is a geospatial tool that allows selecting any coordinate in the State of São Paulo and defining a customizable catchment radius (buffer from 10 km to 100 km). The tool automatically aggregates all municipalities within the area of influence, calculating the total analyzed area, agricultural area, and primary class, while detailing land use distribution and providing feedback on biogas production suitability.

What is it for

• Evaluate locational feasibility and optimal economic radius for biomass transport for the installation of biogas and biomethane plants. • Identify neighboring municipalities for regional consortium formation. • Analyze surrounding land suitability (detailed land use breakdown) for continuous substrate supply.

How to use

1. Click anywhere on the interactive map to define the point of interest (latitude and longitude). 2. Adjust the "Catchment Radius" slider (from 10 km to 100 km), following the logistics feasibility recommendations. 3. Click the "Analyze" button to process spatial data. 4. Explore results: agricultural area, detailed MapBiomas class distribution, and energy indicators. 5. Use the "Export Data" button to download the CSV spreadsheet or "Share" to generate a direct link with the analyzed coordinate and radius.
